Letting the fashion influence the genre of the band.
Creating "characters" or personas that the band members use. The idea of them all being secretly octopi, and having an inner battle between their human and marine sides. "Wrestling the Octopus" I wanted it to be a psychological battle but brought into reality by those whose minds are infected. As if the octopi are taking over their minds. Hence the tendrils spilling out of the characters to mimic hair.

Workshop 1: Create an analogue alphabet using 4 shapes
We could use a square, triangle and circle, as well as a final shape that was one of the initial three. I created these letters using two triangles, a square and a circle.
We then transferred the images over to Illustrator to digitize them into a vector image so they could work at any size. I experimented with different colours and textures within the shapes.
Week 2:
Logo in Illustrator - a transparent vector image that can be used at any size, and against a coloured or plain background.
Experimented with colour schemes - the idea of a glitch/blurry icon with pink and blue back lighting.
Mock-up merchandise:
A pirate group on their way to conquer the world with their melodies and sound. Modern sea shanty folk group turned punk-rock: Pirate Metal
Week 3
Experimenting with handwritten typography.
Final Logo - lost the weird hat tentacle thing and now has 8 tentacles.
